  • Notes: My husband and I see God's grace everyday when we look at our children. Our first son will be turning 12 very soon, a big milestone. You see he was born at 27 weeks weighing in at 1 lb 7oz and drs gave him a slim chance at survival when his weight sunk to just 15 oz. After many ups and downs, and months spent in the NICU God allowed him to come home. A few years later, after infertility issues and miscarriages, his sister came into the world. Moriah was born at 33 weeks weighing in at a hefty 4 lbs. She spent some time in the NICU and then came home to join us. We desired to have another child and God gave us peace about "trying again". So another journey started, when our Eden Grace was born at 27 weeks weighing in at 1 lb 13.5oz. We faced more months in the NICU with another one of our children, but this time we also had two children at home to care for. It was not easy, but God's grace got us through and we were able to bring Eden home right before her first Christmas. We can hardly believe she will be 6 in just a few days. It hasn't been easy, our children have some needs due to their prematurity, but we have been blessed. This year God saw fit to extend His grace again. We were told I would not be able to have any more children after Eden, but we got a big surprise! Nathanael, (gift of God) was born screaming at 36 weeks and weighing a whopping 5 lbs 13 oz. the whole experience of being able to hold and bond with your baby right after birth is something I won't forget. The times sitting at our babies bedsides pleading and begging our gracious God to keep giving them breath is something we won't forget either. God's grace is enough. This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. Psalm 118:23

God has a plan for each one these young people. They get to always know the hand of the Lord has kept their family whole. This story about Grace, needs to be shared with many more people. It is a story of grace everlasting and grace sufficient for need…

We also had a preemie – our 4th child was born just before 27 weeks – and weighed 1 lb. 13 oz. Dr’s gave him about a 5% chance of survival with no complications. We also spent 3 months in the NICU and prayed for God’s healing and growth in Ethan’s life. Today, he is an extremely active 13 year old who loves to play sports and is fascinated by rock climbing! God is SO GOOD!!! Thanks for sharing your story.

God bless your family! You’re an inspiration for many. It’s edifying to see how God’s grace has worked in your favor every single time. Makes us remember that He is always with us and no matter how many times we think it’s impossible, His hand always works in our favor. “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23

Blessed is the man who has his quiver full of little arrows!! The day the Lord sent this family their little arrows was the day that mercy and grace was proved to be made REAL as their parents clung to Jesus for strength and hope! While in the midst of the hardships in life, these little, beautiful blessings of HOPE made the walk alittle more precious! Lord bless each one……

It is amazing how God works out the situations in our lives!! When my daughter was born she too had to be in the NICU but she was over full term and was in there because she couldnt keep her body temperature up. All i remember is walking into the NICU seeing all the small baby’s and it made me realize how blessed i really was. Sommer i can only imagine how you must have felt not only with one child but more. You are a strong brave woman to have to put up with all your situations. I am so happy that you have a loving, happy family. You are truly blessed. Love Ya, Shannon Hinton
