AJ MICHALKA stars in GRACE UNPLUGGED, a moving and inspiring new film that explores the true meaning of success. She plays Grace Trey, a talented young singer and aspiring songwriter whose Christian faith and family ties are tested when she defies her worship-pastor father and pursues pop-music stardom in Hollywood.
Michalka has achieved her own musical success. As a member of Aly & AJ, the duo she formed with her sister when they were both teenagers, she released two hit albums and became platinum-selling recording artist. The sisters have regrouped under the name 78Violet and recently released a single, “Hothouse.”
Michalka, 22, has also acted in SECRETARIAT, THE LOVELY BONES and SUPER 8. She recently wrapped production on the independent feature film JESUS IN COWBOY BOOTS.
Bret Stevens is co-host of the Morning show with Bret & Sara. He’s been at Salem Communications since 2005.
Bret has worked on the air in radio stations since he was 16, and knew as a young boy that he wanted to be a Dee Jay. He began his broadcasting career in Walsenburg, CO. His job has taken him to Monterey, CA, Medford, OR, and Austin Texas. Bret’s voice can also be heard on radio and TV commercials throughout Colorado.
Bret’s main priority is his family. He’s the father of three and has been married to his wife Melissa since 1995.
Bret’s other passions include collecting comic books, writing comic books, long walks, movies, and eating chili fries. He also makes a “killer” guacamole dip.
He finds writing about himself in third-person is kind of strange.
What a gift to hang out with the “best listeners in the world every morning”. The goal of the show is to mirror the “welcoming heart of God”. We try to offer you a good laugh on your way to work too because life brings so many challenges and laughter is the best medicine. I’ve been doing mornings at the Fish since October, 2000. Kevin is the brother I thought I always wanted. LOL.
I was born in California, in Newport Beach.I grew up in the SF Bay area, in Northern California. One big year in my life was my senior year of High School.I spent that year in Minden, Germany as an exchange student.(Class of ’85).
I’ve been in radio since 1988, with many stations including KSOL (where I was Doug EE Fresh the traffic rapper) 6 years as “Jungle Doug” on KRTY/Country in San Jose, and 3 years on the syndicated “Doug & Connie / Doug & Karla” morning show.I also worked with our Christian music channels on XM Satellite Radio.
My favorite verse is Phil. 4:6-7 which in the “Message” reads “Don’t fret or worry.Instead of worrying, pray.Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”
I love raising my busy family, yep mutli-tasking in my middle name. However, I believe balance is key and taking time to ‘be still” is “not an option” I’m a self-proclaimed “foodie” always seeking out something new to cook or eat ….thankful that my Boot Camp workouts balance that out I love my Fish Family too! It’s so cool when you call, email, find me on Facebook or Twitter. I’m so honored to hear all about you, your kids, your life..the good, the not so good and the silly, really, thanks for blessing me more than you could know.

I absolutely love God first and enjoy His awesome presence in my life! I grew up as a P.K. (Preacher’s Kid) and have loved God from a very early age. Thanks Mom and Dad!
Born a Hoosier, raised as a Buckeye and marrying a Wolverine has proven to be a unique building block of depth and texture especially on University of Michigan and Ohio State game days!
Now, living in Texas has added a fresh southern flair and awareness for “Hook-um Horns!” Having over 25 years of experience in Christian radio and television, I have enjoyed seeing God do marvelous things in media over the last couple of decades. Being a part of sharing His gospel through broadcasting and writing has been a joy and a call on my life since high school.
